My 2-year-old can actually grip these chunky wooden animals on her own, and she loves matching each one to the picture underneath. The giraffe and elephant stand upright too, so she lines them up on the coffee table like a little parade.
The pieces are thick enough that my niece can stand them up on the coffee table and knock them over without them tipping constantly. She also likes lifting each animal to find the matching picture underneath, which keeps her busy way longer than I expected.
