My 1-year-old figured out how to pull the giraffe piece out on her own within a day, which surprised me since she usually needs help with puzzles. The wooden pieces are chunky enough that she can't choke on them, and the paint hasn't chipped despite her chewing on the lion.
The knob noses are genius for my 10-month-old, she grabs the giraffe and lion without any help from me. Wood feels solid and the paint hasn't chipped after two weeks of daily chewing, which I was worried about.
My niece just turned one and these are the first puzzle pieces she can actually pull out herself, mostly because the wooden nose knobs are chunky enough for her whole fist. The paint hasn't chipped at all despite a few enthusiastic throws across the room.
