Nesting & Sorting Barns & Animals

The numbered animals make counting feel like a game instead of a lesson, and my two-year-old lines them up on the windowsill before nesting the blocks. Six barns turned out to be the perfect number, since he can finish the whole set before losing interest.

My toddler spends ages trying to match each animal to its correct barn, and the different sizes keep her thinking. The numbers on the blocks are a subtle bonus for counting practice.

The numbered animals make it easy to practice counting while stacking the blocks. My son spends ages matching each animal to its correct barn and then knocking it all down again.
